Journalism Courses:

  • Newswriting- Wrote hard news stories.
  • Reporting- Traditional and electronic methods of gathering news.

Communication Courses:

  • Public Speaking- Oral communication theory and practice in a public speaking.
  • Foundation of Human Communication- Theories examining the nature of human communication.
  • Foundation of Mass Communication- Historical and theoretical foundations of mass communication, as well as the inner workings of the media industry.
  • Foundations of Rhetoric and Social Influence- Rhetorical theory from its classical roots to contemporary thinkers.
  • Persuasive Discourse- Understanding and analyzing persuasive messages.
  • Communications in Organizations- Practice in areas such as interviewing, meeting management, and professional presentations.

Public Relations Courses:

  • Foundations of Public Relations- Looking at communication skills and technologies necessary for successful public relations.
  • Style and Design in Public Relations Messages- Web design and social media.
